Today is Ash Wednesday, ushering us into the 40-days of repentance that lead us to Easter.

It is tradition to either give something up, or do something you don’t normally do as part of the donning of “sack cloth and ashes.”

Many Christians also alter their diet, specifically observing the tradition of not eating meat today, and also on Fridays during the Lenten season.

For that reason, our live-stream Internet show, ‘Live From the Newsroom,’ will hit the road tonight for a very special show from Antonella’s Italian Kitchen in Rosemont. Antonella’s is a family-owned Italian restaurant that is legend among students at nearby Villanova University.

Antonella promises to offer some great ideas for meat-free Lenten menus, and she will show off some of the house’s specialities.

We will be joined by her kids, Francesca and Stefan, who play a big role in the restaurant.

Make sure you tune in tonight at 7 when ‘Live From the Newsroom’ pays a special visit to Antonella’s.

Do you have a special tradition you observe during Lent, or have some great recipes that refrain from meat? Email them to me at editor@delcotimes.com, and then tune in tonight and take part in our live chat on DelcoTimes.com.

By the way. wish me luck, I am in the process of once again attempting to swear off cursing and beer for Lent. This is never a good idea. I’ve already fallen off the wagon several times this morning. It’s a bad habit. Heck, it’s enough to drive you to drink.
