A salute to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial

It certainly takes more than a few raindrops to deter Delco.

More than 5,000 people paid no mind to the threatening skies Saturday morning for one of the truly best things to happen in this county in years.

The throng, including former Gov. Tom Ridge and current Gov. Tom Corbett, were on hand along West Chester Pike out in Newtown Square for the dedication of the Delaware County Veterans Memorial.

You can read our coverage here.

This magnificent structure, the result of a lot of years of hard work by people like Guy Fizzano, Linds Houldin, and Claude deBotton, was worth the wait.

It contains the name of every Delaware County citizen who gave his or her life in service to their country.

We add our salute.
