We have a very special 'Live From the Newsroom' planned for tonight to preview one of the biggest events the county has seen in years.
The new Delaware County Veterans Memorial, located on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square, will be dedicated officially in a ceremony this Saturday.
Tonight on our live-stream show, we'll preview how the memorial came about and the stories about it.
Joining us will be:
• Guy Fizzano, certainly a very familiar name in Delaware County, the owner of Fizzano Brothers Concrete, which has been in operation since 1935. He’s also a veteran of the U.S. Army, and serves as board president of DCVMA (Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association), which has been the driving force behind this project.
• Bill Kinney, from the Smedley Butler Marine Detachment. Representing Steve Neri and Stan Short, who were 2 of the founding members of this detachment now deceased.
• Jerry Sweeley, 8th District Commander for the Eastern Section of the American Legion.
• Tom Brown, from Veterans of Foreign Wars. • Martin Costello, commander of the American Legion of Delaware County.
• And Linda Houldin, a longtime supervisor in Newtown Township, home to the memorial.
Click here to read more about the monument and the stories of some of the names that adorn it.
Then tune in tonight at 7 to take part in our live chat during a very special 'Live From The Newsroom.'
