He may just have the toughest job in Delaware County.
Outside of being an Upper Darby school bus driver, of course.
Meet Gregory Shannon. Yesterday he signed on for a five-year stint as the new superintendent of the Chester Upland School District.
Shannon, 49, spent 26 years in the Philadelphia School District. He's being hailed as a turnaround specialist.
He might add miracle worker to his resume. He's going to need it.
We wish him the best of luck. The kids in Chester Upland deserve better than they have been getting.
The hiring of Shannon just might be the first step on that path.
