Make no mistake, I am very happy that missing college student Matthew Royer has turned up safe and sound, if a couple hundred miles from his home.
Too often these stories don't have these kind of happy endings.
I am interested, however, in just what happened and why he decided, when he was just 30 miles from his home in Skippack after finishing up classes at the University of Rhode Island, to take a road trip.
I think our readers would, too. Royer was the subject of a lot of publicity, including no small amount on this website, after police and his parents pleaded for information on his whereabouts.
He turned up yesterday. You can read those details here.
But you won't find out much about what he was doing for those days when he was missing. His family is not talking and is now asking for privacy.
It's still better than the outcomes many feared. It just leaves a lot of questions.
