Move over, Dom Brown, here comes John Mayberry

Move over, Dom Brown.

Last night it was John Mayberry Jr.'s time in the spotlight.

Mayberry was not in the starting lineup, but he still wound up the star of the game.

The outfielder hit a pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the 10th to keep the game even, he ended things with a boom - or rather a grand slam. Mayberry hit a bullet into the left-field seats with the bases load to win it in walkoff style in the bottom of the 11th.

Dennis Deitch has the details here.

It was only the fourth time in Phillies history thata non-starter hit two homers in a game.

The Phillies have now won three in a row and once again today will get the opportunity to try to reach the .500 mark.

Every time they get to this point they fall back. Maybe the lowly Marlins are just what they need to even their record.
