'Live From the Newsroom' tackles the Pa. budget process tonight

A lot has been made of what happened over the past couple of weeks in Harrisburg. While the Legislature delivered an on-time, balanced budget without a tax hike, it did not take any action on Gov. Corbett's 'Big 3' agenda.

The governor wanted a spending plan that included moves to privatize the state sale of alcohol; a big bump in transit funding to help the state's crumbling roads and bridges; and a solution to the whopping public employee pension problem.

They did none of those, amid signs of serious fissures not just between some pols and the governor, but among some Republican legislators themselves.

Tonight our live-stream Internet show, 'Live From the Newsroom,' will tackle all the issues swirling around the state budget. And we'll do it with some of the people who were up to their necks in the process.

Joining us will be state Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-9, of Chester; House Appropriations Committee Chairman Bill Adolph, R-165, of Springfield. Also on hand will be two legislators a little newer to the process to offers their view of how things are done in Harrisburg, Rep. Joe Hacket, R-161, of Ridley, and Rep. Margo Davidson, D-164, of Upper Darby.

I know I have questions for them, but I'd like to know what you'd like to ask as well. Do you have a question about liquor privatization for Sen. Pileggi? Do you have an education funding query for Rep. Adolph? Email them to editor@delcotimes.com and I'll ask them tonight.

Then tune in tonight. We'll be live at a special time - 6:30-7 p.m. You can log on to DelcoTimes.com and take part in our live chat. Everybody knows there are budget problems in Harrisburg. This is your chance to be part of the solution.

Take part in the conversation.
