'Live From the Newsroom' takes in 'Dining Under the Stars'

Media is a jumping little town these days. And that's never more evident than on summer Wednesday nights, when the borough rolls out one of the best events in the county.

I am talking about 'Dining Under the Stars,' when the county seat closes down State Street to vehicular traffic and allows the many borough eateries to set up shop literally in the street. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it.

We're taking out live-stream Internet show, 'Live From the Newsroom,' out on the road again to take in the fun on State Street.

We'll be joined by a cavalcade of movers and shakers from the borough, including Patrick Ward, executive director of the Media Theatre, which also has a huge event going on tonight, the finals of their summer spectacular, 'The Vocalist.'

Also stopping by will be: Bryan Messick, the new president of the Media Business Authority and a VP at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union; Anthony Bellapigna, owner of Ariana and Fellini Cafe. Anthony is widely credited with having the original idea for Dining Under the Stars. He'll also be talking about his expansion plans for his wildly popular Fellini into the adjacent space next door; and also Marie Sciocchetti, president of the Media-Upper Providence Library Board. The library is undertaking a major rebuild at the same location at Front and Jackson. They need funds and publicity and we'll let Sciocchetti maker her pitch.

It's fast becoming a summer tradition in Media. Join us out on State Street for 'Dining Under the Stars.'

By the way, if Mother Nature gets in the way and rain douses the celebration, we'll be inside Media Theatre's lobby.

If you're going to be in Media tonight, please stop by and say hello.
