Your 2013 Philadelphia Phillies

Here is the lineup your Philadelphia Phillies trotted out last night to face the Washington Nationals.

Kevin Frandsen was at first; Cesar Hernandez at 2nd; that Freddy Galvis was manning short; Cody Asche handled the hor corner. The outfield consisted of Darin Ruf and John Mayberry at the corners and Michael Martinez in center. Carlos Ruiz was behind the plate, with Ethan Martin on the hill.

If you guessed that would be a September Phillies starting lineup back in April, you're our grand prize winner.

Not surprisingly, the Phils fell, 9-6, as both Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley got the night off, although both eventually got in the game to pinch-hit.

This is what you get with the expanded September rosters.

But is that a major league lineup, for which you are still charging major league prices, or one that you would expect to see in the Lehigh Valley. In fact, six of the nine starters began the season in the minors.

Martin is quickly pitching his way back to the minors. He threw 86 pitches and only lasted four and two-thirds innings. He managed to walk five along the way. A walk and a hit batter preceded a three-run homer in the top of the 2nd that put the Phils in a hole.

Hey, only five more days until the Eagles season begins.
