How 'bout dem Sixers!

Go ahead, admit it.

You're impressed with the Sixers.

And you're likely going to check them out on TV tonight as they take on the Wizards down in D.C.

That's probably in part just to be sure what we saw Wednesday night when they shocked the world - and probably themselves - by racing out to a 19-0 lead on the two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat, only to fall behind, and still scratch back and win the game.

And in the proces they gave us a hot new acronym.

MCW.

Get used to hearing it.

Michael Carter-Williams, the Syracuse product who is filling the fairly large sneakers of departed All-Star Jrue Holliday, had a stunning opening night, with 22 points, 12 rebounds and nine steals.

Is he the real deal. We'll find out. I'm not sure he's always going to get double-digits on points most nights, but he certainly is going to get tons of steals. That's what happens when you're 6-6 and have the wingspan of a 747. You cut off a lot of passing lanes that way.

Could the Sixers, who most experts believe will have trouble cracking the 20-win mark in their march toward a high draft pick, actually start the season 2-0.

We'll find out tonight.

And yes, I'll be watching.
