The Dreaded Saturday Eagles Pick

Chip Kelly will get a chance to see the perfect quarterback to run his offense this weekend. Unfortunately, he will be wearing the uniform of the Oakland Raiders.

Terrell Pryor is starting to put his game together, and that spells bad news for the Birds. Last week, when he wasn't making all the right decisions from the pocket, the former Ohio State star also managed to scamper 93 yards for a touchdown.

In the meantime, the next touchdown scored by the Eagles offense will be their first in more than two games. That’s right, take away that gift snap that sailed over the punter’s head that the Eagles recovered for a TD vs. the Giants, and this would be an epic scoring drought.

Add to that the never-ending quarterback carousel. Michael Vick, who wasn't healthy in the first place and probably never should have started against the Giants, is back on the shelf. Nick Foles is back as your starter. The last time he got this opportunity, he came up small, looking completely lost against the Cowboys before exiting with a concussion. Another poor showing would not bode well for his future as the Birds quarterback of the future.

Instead, Chip Kelly will likely gaze at Pryor and wonder about what could be, while he waits for next year's draft.

The Pick: Make it Raiders 23, Eagles 13. Pryor will do enough to carry the Raiders. These are two franchises going in different directions. Plus, the Eagles will have to deal with a cross-country flight.

Last Week: The Eagles offensive woes continue. After a sizzling start, this offense has gone in the tank. DeSean Jackson is failing to stick his head in and get first downs. Shady McCoy is doing more dancing then rushing, and who knows who is going to wind up at quarterback. It all adds up to what we originally thought - the rebuilding process is only starting around here.

Season Record: My streak continues, even as the Eagles head in the other direction. I went with the Giants and it paid off. I now sit at 5-3 at the halfway point, not bad considering I started out at 0-3. In the meantime the Eagles have now slumped to 3-5, but still find themselves just one game behind the Cowboys in the NFC Least.

Game by Game: Eagles 33, Redskins 27 (My Pick: Redskins 31, Eagles 23)

Chargers 33, Eagles 30 (My Pick: Eagles 33, Chargers 17)

Chiefs 26, Eagles 16 (My Pick: Eagles 31, Chiefs 23)

Broncos 52, Eagles 20 (My Pick: Broncos 41, Eagles 27)

Eagles 36, Giants 21 (My Pick: Eagles 29, Giants 26)

Eagles 31, Buccaneers 20 (My Pick: Eagles 26, Buccaneers 17)

Cowboys 17, Eagles 3 (My Pick: Cowboys 33, Eagles 23)

Giants 15, Eagles 7 (My Pick: Giants 26, Eagles-23)
