Nothing Shady about this forecast

If you're wondering what happened to Shady McCoy in the Eagles' debacle Sunday in Minnesota, you're not the only one.

No. 25 - simetimes referred to as 'Cut On a Dime' - has his doubts, too. McCoy got only eight carries as the Birds melted down in the dome vs. the Vikes, one week after running all over the vaunted Detroit Lions defense in that Snow Bowl at Lincoln Financial Field.

McCoy doesn't want that to happen again. And he has a message for coach Chip Kelly: Give me the ball. Check out what McCoy said yesterday.

He wants to put the Birds on his back Sunday night in a crucial prime time affair vs. the Bears. In other words, run the ball.

Kelly took a page out of Andy Reid's playbook last week, getting pass happy, and it blew up in his face. McCoy is advocating for a much bigger dose of the run game Sunday.

He's not going to get an argument from me. That kind of attack would have two benefits. It would get McCoy much more involved in the offense, which is never a bad thing. At the same time, it will keep the Bears high-powered offense - and that Eagles defense that got scorched by an inferior Vikings offense last week - off the field.

Do you think Chip Kelly is listening?
