Underlining a missed opportunity for Eagles

This is what is routinely referred to as the best weekend of the NFL. It's the four divisional playoff games, which determine the four teams that will play in the NFC and AFC title games for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

But after watching a lot of those games, in particular the NFC tilts that saw the 49ers go to Carolina and oust the Panthers, while the Seahawks prevailed at home vs. the Saints, I'm left with this overriding feeling. The Eagles blew a golden opportunity.

If the Eagles had beaten the Saints, they would have gone to Carolina, not Seattle. Did anyone see anything from the Panthers to make you think the Eagles would not have given them a better game than the Saints did?

None of this is going to change the fact that the Eagles likely over-achieved in Chip Kelly's first season as head coach.

It also does not change my mind that they missed a great chance to sneak into the NFC title game - and maybe more, can you say North Jersey?
