'Live From the Newsroom' puts Upper Darby under the microscope

There is an economic secret going on right under our noses here in Delaware County. It's the success story almost no one knows about it.

Maybe you've heard of it. It's called 69th Street.

That's right, 'East Street' is back.

Tonight our live-stream Internet broadcast, 'Live From the Newsroom,' will focus on the revitalization of Upper Darby. I'll be joined by Mayor Tom Micozzie, who delivered his state of the township address last week.

We'll also be joined by Upper Darby Police Superintendent Mike Chitwood, whose job it is to make sure that violent crime does not derail the township's economic gains.

It's a slippery slope. It's Micozzie's job to make the township an appealing place. That's not always easy when you have a chief who makes headlines as often as Chitwood, known for his habit of shooting from the lip.

Chitwood also just happens to be marking 50 years in law enforcement.

We'll talk about it tonight.

Why not take part in the conversation? If you have a question for either the mayor or top cop, email it to me at editor@delcotimes.com and I will use it on tonight's show.

Then tune in tonight at 7 on DelcoTimes.com and take part in our live chat during the show.

It's a focus on Upper Darby tonight on 'Live From the Newsroom.' Join us!
