Phillies go undefeated in March

What does it say about Philly sports that the Phillies and Sixers had the same number of wins in March?

Or the addled, sick mind of one disturbed fan to even think that way?

Hey, let's look on the bright side. The Phils went undefeated in March. So they only played one game, and had to score 14 runs to do it.

Considering their got blanked in their final three games of the exhibition season, I will take it. Jimmy Rollins returned to the team just in time to smack a grand slam, the 200th home run of his career.

Handed a 6-0 lead, Cliff Lee promptly went into the tank, surrendering the lead as the Phils were looking at a discouraging 7-6 deficit before rallying for the win.

The Phillies pounded out 17 hits. It only seemed as if they scored as many runs as they did the entire time they spent down in Florida in Grapefruit League play.

Ryan Howard had two hits. Ben Revere went 3 for 6.

Then there was Lee and the pitching. Remember, this was supposed to be the Phillies' strength.

Lee got touched for 11 hits and 8 runs over 5 innings. His ERA now stands at an apoplectic 14.40.

But remember it wasn't that long ago when the Phils seemed to go an entire season without getting Lee any run support, so maybe he was due for this kind of win.

His record - the only one that really counts - stands at 1-0, as do the Phils.
