I had a chance last night to get a sneak peek inside the county's newest - and hottest - concert venue.
I was sitting outside the Sun Center Studios in Chester Township, smack dab in the middle of what will be the seating area for this summer's Starlight Concert Series, which kicks off June 11 with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Other acts coming to the Delco spot this summer include Procol Harum, Gordon Lightfoot, the Indigo Girls and the Beach Boys
My thanks to Jeff Rottwitt, the president of Sun Center Studios, and Chester Township Councilman Bobby May.
If you missed the show, you can catch the replay here.
I should start by apologizing to May. We made a common mistake in teasing the show on the front page Wednesday. The mailing address may be Aston, but Sun Center is the pride of Chester Township.
And the summer concert series, outside under the stars, is the latest element to what is fast becoming a very big entertainment spot in the county.
Rottwitt is not even close to being done. He has visions of making the spot Delco's own version of Disney World, with 'back-lot' movie tours, a hotel and lots of shops and restaurants.
Go ahead, admit it. You probably never thought of Chester Township and 'destination location' in the same sentence.
Rottwitt and May - along with BRE Presents and their Starlight Concert Series - are hoping to change your mind.
