We're going to be all about good news this morning.
We have news about the start of the high school graduation season, and two great, positive stories out of the city of Chester.
Unfortunately, we start our day with the Phillies. They lost again last night in a rain-delayed to the Nats. Making the night even more distressing to Philly sports fans was the sight of a gaggle of former Flyers leading the L.A. Kings to a thrilling overtime win over the New Rangers in Game One of the Stanley Cup finals.
There was Justin Williams, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards all playing 'King'-sized roles in the win for L.A.
So what's a Philly fan to do.
Well, if you live here in Delco, I have one word for you: Lacrosse.
I can say with some amount of certainty that Delaware County will be home to this year's PIAA girls state lacrosse champion.
That's because when the title game is contested in Hershey on Saturday, it will pit not one but two Delco teams. Springfield will collide with Garnet Valley for the crown in an All-Delco, All-Central League final.
And boys' fans are not being left out of the loop either. After the girls contest, the Penncrest boys will vie for a state title vs. Avon Grove from Chester County.
Of course, make sure you stay with the Daily Times and our home for local sports, GameTimePa.com, for live updates all afternoon.
