Welcome to Delco, the lacrosse capital of Pa.

Delaware County is quickly becoming the lacrosse capital of Pennsylvania.

Don't believe me? Consider tomorrow's PIAA lacrosse championships. Here's a hint. The girls champion is going to be from Delaware County. It's a lock. Why? Because both teams, Garnet Valley and Springfield, hail from Delco.

And the boys? Penncrest will be seeking the crown, going against Avon Grove, from out in Chester County.

Here are our advance stories on Garnet Valley and Springfield girls.

Click here for a look at preparations with the Penncrest boys.

And if you can't make it to Hershey on Saturday, stick with DelcoTimes.com and our home for high school sports, GameTimePa.com for live coverage of both games.

We'll have a live blog with staffers Matt DeGeorge and Matt Smith giving live updates. Our lead columnist Jack McCaffery also will be in Hershey for the girls title tilt.

You can take part in the coverage by using the hashtag #delcolax on Twitter.

Then make sure you pick up a copy of the Sunday Times for our full coverage.

For now, here's a question? What is fueling this huge uptick in lacrosse? If you want to talk about it, email staff writer Jeff Wolfe at jwolfe@delcotimes.com. He's writing an advance story for Saturday on the lacrosse boom that is taking over Delco sports.
