I Don’t Get It: It’s pretty clear this is an instance of a person having a gun who had no business possessing one, with deadly results. Today’s Upper: Kudos to Dr. Lee Silverman, who returned fire and likely prevented further tragedy. Quote Box: “Without a doubt, I believe the doctor saves lives."

You mean the mentally disturbed felon didn't fail the background check?
Oh, that's right, criminals don't take background checks.

Forgotten here is the young mom from Philadelphia, arrested in NJ, that had a Carry License from PA, that is not recognized by NJ. She might do 3 years mandatory. Never been in trouble ever, passed background checks for license and the handgun. NJ is going to lock her up. WHO are these laws protecting? Seems to me this mental guy has more freedoms.
