Staci Dawson, meet Brad Fox.
If only she could.
Fox is the Montgomery County police officer who was shot with a gun he acquired via a straw purchase.
Dawson this week became the first person convicted under the new law enacted in Fox's name, enacting a mandatory minimum five-year prison sentence for anyone who engages in the practice of straw gun purchases.
Delco District Attorney Jack Whelan sounded a warning for others, if you engage in this practice, you are looking at serious jail time.
If the Brad Fox Law keeps even one person from considering buying a gun for someone who is not legally allowed to possess one, it will be well worth it, and a tribute to the legacy of Brad Fox.
