Finally, a Philadelphia sports team has achieved perfection.
Unfortunately, it's the Sixers.
They lost their 17th straight last night, going down 109-103 to a Spurs team that did not dress stars Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.
The franchise that once featured names such as Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving and Allen Iverson now stands one loss away from tying the all-time mark for futility to start a season. That would be the 2009-10 Nets, who managed to drop their first 18 games before getting into the win column.
The Sixers are in Minnesota Wednesday night to face the Timberwolves, who sport a 4-11 mark.
In the meantime, Dennis Deitch was on hand to see the latest carnage last night at the Wells Fargo Center.
Columnist Jack McCaffery notes the Sixers should be insulted that they are being taken so casually by their opponents.
To say nothing of their fans.
