The weekend's big winner? Chip Kelly

Eagles fans should be kicking themselves this morning.

I watched parts of all four NFL Wild Card playoff games this weekend. I haven't seen a good team yet. I guess that means the Eagles would fit right in, since I don't think they're very good either.

Looking for the biggest winner of the weekend?

Try Chip Kelly. No one is saying it, but it appears pretty clear that Kelly went to Eagles owner Jeff Lurie and basically told him it was him or Howie Roseman after the Eagles GM summarily dismissed Kelly's guy Tom Gamble in a front office power play.

It didn't take long for Lurie to make up his mind, especially after social media reports started exploding Friday that Kelly might ask out of his contract.

The team put out a statement Friday night announcing a bit of a shuffle in the front office.

Howie Roseman is probably still trying to figure out what hit him.

He's basically been reduced to a numbers guy.

Chip Kelly now controls everything when it comes to the football team and personnel.

Now all he has to do is win.

Giving by what I saw this weekend, he already wasted a golden opportunity this year.

Here's beat writer Bob Grotz's take on the Kelly Chronicles.
