Death and near death in Radnor

Two incidents from out in Radnor Township offer credence to just how fragile life is - something we probably should think about more often.

The first is just a tragic accident.

A man is doing what he likely does every day - driving along busy Sproul Road during the evening rush hour. But he never made it to his destination. High winds toppled a huge tree, which fell on the car driven by Narces Mothersil, 54, of Upper Darby. He was married with two children.

You can read the reactions of neighbors who described Mothersil and his wife as a 'lovely couple' here.

The second incident was a near-miss, but one that no doubt will send chills down the spine of any parent.

Police in Radnor are trying to figure out exactly what happened when a bullet flew into a township home, narrowly missing a child sleeping in his bedroom.

After they found a street sign in the neighborhood with bullet holes in it, police are now theorizing that someone may have been firing at the sign and simply missed. Laura Marino found the bullet on the floor of her son Zach's bedroom.

Hug your loves ones today. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they can be snatched away.
