Another big story comes home to Delco

I used my print column today to once again point out something I am always telling to my staff.

Any time a big story occurs - a natural disaster, plane crash or some other disaster - you can count on one thing. Very often it will somehow work its way back here to Delaware County.

It happened last week when we got word that Yvonne Selke and her daughter Emily were aboard that ill-fated Germanwings jet that authorities now believe was intentionally flown into the French Alps by the troubled co-pilot.

Yvonne Selke lived in Virginia and was an accomplished employee with Booz Allen Hamilton doing consulting work for the Pentagon.

But before that she was a Delco girl and proud alum of Springfield High School.
