'Live From the Newsroom' covers the Chester arts scene

Tonight we're taking our livestream Internet broadcast, 'Live From the Newsroom,' to the city of Chester for a view of the city not often seen - or talked about.

Chester is the home to a burgeoning arts scene.

Tonight we will be at Open Mike's Internet Cafe on Avenue of the States to get the details on something called the 'Made in Chester Initiative.'

A few weeks ago several hundred people gathered in the city on a snowy late-winter night for a show featuring some of the region's best artists. Yes, right in downtown Chester.

We'll talk with Laurie Zierer, executive director of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council; Sharon Meagher, dean of the college of Arts & Sciences at Widener University in the city; Don Newton from Chester Arts Alive; and Chester Mayor John Linder.

I'd also like to know how much readers know about the Chester arts scene and if they have taken in any of their activities.

If you have a question for our panel or have something you'd like to know about the arts in Chester, email it to me at editor@delcotimes.com.

Then tune in tonight at 7 on DelcoTimes.com for a side of Chester not often seen.
