Sestak gets a challenge

Joe Sestak is getting some company.

Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski today is expected to announce he will join Sestak in seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey.

That sigh you just heard is a lot of Pennsylvania Democratic leaders exhaling.

For some reason, they're not in love with the Delco Democrat.

That has something to do with the bridges Sestak burned when he ignored their pleas and challenged - and defeated - party-switcher Arlen Specter back in 2010.

He's also been known to ignore the advice of party leaders.

It worked for him when he knocked off 20-year Republican incumbent Congressman Curt Weldon in a wild 7th District Congressional race. But he lost to Toomey.

Now Sestak wants a rematch.

But first he'll have to get the nomination.

And maybe win back the hearts of his own party in the process.
