Questions surround Chester incident

There are a lot of questions swirling around the death of a man who was riding a bicycle in Chester Wednesday night.

Police say Sherman Byrd, 24, was a suspect in an armed robbery and was fleeing the seen on his bicycle. He was struck and killed by a Chester police cruiser.

Family members are telling a different story. They say Byrd, who was carrying a handgun, was not connected to robbery at all.

At least one witness has indicated that Byrd actually had gotten off his bike and was run down by an officer.

All of this has now landed in the lap of Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan. He's met with the family and promised a 'thorough investigation.'

Whelan has indicated it has not yet been confirmed if Byrd 'is the person who committed the robbery.'

Here's the latest we know about this case.
