'Delco Proper' comes to Comedy Central

Delco, are you ready for another close-up?

We're used to Tinseltown dropping in and portraying life here in Delaware County.

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence recently elevated us to Oscar-level film stardom with their portrayal of a couple of troubled locals in "The Silver Lining Playbook."

More recently, Sylvester Stallone took advantage of some gritty Chester gyms to film parts of the upcoming "Creed."

Now it's Comedy Central's turn.

It appears the yuksters who gave us "South Park" and "Comedy Central" are about to turn the cameras on life here in Delco.

They will unveil a new show called "Delco Proper" tonight, available for streaming on their website.

Here's how Comedy Central describes the show:

"Three best friends from a rough blue-collar neighborhood in Philadelphia struggle to avoid trouble and make a name for themselves in a city where the odds are stacked against them."

We won't hold it against them that Delaware County and Philadelphia are actually separate entities.

The show will star Tommy Pope, Tim Butterly and John McKeever.

Here's a look at the trailer. Warning. It contains strong language.

I'll let you decide how accurate a portrayal this is.

Not sure if they'll work in any references to the Bazaar of All Nations, or maybe more recently the late, lamented Granite Run Mall.

Nothing in the trailer to indicate this has anything to do with Delco. Or the Philadelphia area. Or Pennsylvania. Great choice, whoever picked this clip.
