RIP Moses Malone

It is that rarest of Philadelphia sports events.

We call it a parade.

You don't get one for making the playoffs.

You don't get one for reaching the quarter or semifinals.

You get one for winning a title.

Thank you, Moses Malone.

For all his greatness, Dr. J. would not have had a parade without Moses, and his infamous proclamation of "fo, fo, fo." It's been a tough year for the Sixers.

First they lost Caldwell Jones. Then the stunning news that 'Chocolate Thunder, Darryl Dawkins, had succumbed, his heart having given out at an all too young age.

Now add Malone to that list. The NBA Hall of Famer and centerpice of the Sixers 1983 championship team died in his sleep at age 60. Make sure you read Jack McCaffery's appreciation of Moses.
