Delco's own Audra McLaughlin to sing National Anthem on Monday Night Football

There's nothing I like better than being able to chronicle a local person who is realizing their dream.

Meet Audra McLaughlin.

You probably remember her as a finalist on season six of "The Voice." Her blind audition knocked out the judges and she made it to the Final Eight in the singing competition.

The Glenolden native has been busy since then.

I actually had the chance to interview McLaughlin when we took our 'Live From the Newsroom' show to Ridley to showcase the Delco Let There Be Rock School, where she was honing her skills under the tutelage of owner Melissa Daley.

Since her show-stopping performances on "The Voice," which garnered her the nickname "The Country Soprano," McLaughlin has been seeking a career in country music. She has a new single, "Tennessee Cowboy," about to hit the charts.

And now she's about to get a little more national exposure.

McLaughlin will sing the National Anthem before the Eagles-Giants Monday Night Football game Oct. 19 on ESPN.

The rest of the world is about to discover what Delco already knows - this girl can flat-out sing.

You go, girl.
