How 'bout those Temple Owls!

The Eagles play another very important game in prime time Sunday night when they visit the unbeaten Carolina Panthers.

It can wait.

Today belongs to the Temple Owls.

Last night Matt Rhule's kids became the first team in Temple history to go 7-0 by rallying behind a stout defense to hold off East Carolina, 24-14.

The win not only kept the No. 22-ranked Owls' record unblemished, it set up a huge national TV match with vaunted - and No. 11 - Notre Dame Saturday night at a sold-out Lincoln Financial Field.

Now the only thing missing is for the ESPN College Game Day crew to hit South Philly.

Congratulations to Rhule and the kids from Temple.

Today they are the toast of the town, and are about to experience a week not seen on the North Philly campus since the days of Wayne Hardin.

Hoot Owls!
