The Kane Scrutiny takes an even more bizarre turn

I didn't think the circus surrounding Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane could get any weirder.

I was wrong.

Yesterday, at a hearing in Montgomery County Court for her one of her aides who also faces charges in this bizarre, the case took an even stranger turn.

Montgomery County Judge William Carpenter, who oversaw the grand jury that recommended charges be filed against Kane for leaking grand jury material, lying about it in her testimony before the panel, and then trying to cover it up, made a startling revelation.

The judge indicated for the record that he believed that both him and his family had been under surveillance while the case was being investigated last year.

You can get all the details here from Carl Hessler, who mans the Montco courts for our sister paper.

Carpenter made sure not to point an accusing finger at one party or another in this increasingly sordid caper, but wanted to note it for the record in the interest of full disclosure.

Carpenter indicated he believed his house was under surveillance and both he and his family had been followed while in their cars.

No charges have been filed against anyone in connection with the alleged surveillance.

You can't make this stuff up.
