The stage belongs to the Temple Owls this week

The timing could not be better.

The Eagles will take the week off as they try to figure out why their receivers can't catch the ball, and when exactly Ryan Mathews suffered that mysterious groin injury that prevented him from toting the rock - but did not keep from bolting 66 yards for a TD on one of two carries he got after the injury.

The Phillies are camping out in Clearwater, introducing themselves to new Whiz Kid General Manager Matt Klentak.

The Flyers are very early in the Dave Hakstol Era.

The Sixers are ... well, the Sixers.

So, are you ready for some college football.

This week the stage belongs to the Temple Owls.

ESPN yesterday announced they would add to the electric atmosphere surrounding this weekend's huge matchup pitting the Owls vs. Notre Dame at Lincoln Financial Field by bringing their College Game Day show to Philly. The game will be broadcast nationally Saturday night on ABC.

Lee Corso and the gang will set up shop at Independence Mall Saturday morning to showcase the city and what may be one of the biggest college football games ever played in the city.

Temple is undefeated at 7-0, the best start in school history. But the No. 21 Owls will face a staunch test from the No. 9 Golden Domers of Brian Kelly.
