Flyers: Call them Orange & Black (& Blue)

Maybe we could ask the Eagles to play several times a week.

How else are we going to survive this winter of our discontent, Philly sports fans?

The Flyers played again last night.

Stop me if you've heard this before. They got blown out - again. It's not so much that the Flyers are losing, it's the way they're losing. Suddenly they're on the wrong end of a lopsided score every night. Last night it was the Capital laying the wood on the Orange & Black in a 5-2 laugher.

That makes the Flyers 5-8-3, and losers in eight of their last nine.

On nights when the Sixers play, the Wells Fargo Center isn't much better. They've yet to win at all so far this year, getting out of the gate in this early NBA season by losing eight straight.

In the meantime, the Eagles have a chance to move above .500 when they play the Dolphins at the Linc Sunday.

Keep your fingers crossed.

It's a long time 'til pitchers and catchers report.
