About today's front page

OK, let the second-guessing begin.

I am guessing there might be a lot of people doing a double-take when they glance at the front page of our print edition today.

No, we did not lead with the latest mass shooting, another unthinkable event that left 14 dead and 17 wounded in San Bernardino, Calif. You'll get no argument from me that it is a very important story.

But it's not OUR story.

Scott Jones is. He's the Aston firefighter killed in a car crash last weekend. We led with a story by Rose Quinn that details the family's desire that all those attending his funeral this weekend bring a toy. Did we make the right call?

What would you have done?

Let me know.

Yes you did make the right call, this is one of our own who has done a lot of good for our community and our nation. You are the Delco paper.
We can't forget about innocent people who had to die for some reason unknown at this time. Let the world papers handle that or USA Today.

It's nice to see that a choice for the good was made. If we focus on the positive and not allow the radical's in this world get front page coverage, maybe this world will change for the better. Don't make the negative front and center, stick to the positive and things will move in that direction.

Perfect choice. Enough said.
Respect and admire your appreciation of a fellow neighbor and not any outside publicity just to sell a paper

Respect and admire that you appreciate a fellow neighbor bring light to our community and sell papers with out having to drop to the rest of society's sheepish flow. It was nice to view this instead of the horrible decisions and massive lost , Americans have to be reminded of on a daily basis.👏

You did a great job as did Rose Quinn. Scott was the hero we all need right now and to help one of his favorite causes will just for a few moments let everyone feel a little bit like a hero too.

You have once again shown the respect the The Daily Times has above All the rest. Scott was a true hero, he was a Marine, a Public Servant, A Volunteer, not to take away from what has happened in CA but we need to take care of Our Own right here, right now. Thank You. RIP Scott...
