All Eagles have to do to make playoffs is beat Redskins & Giants

Call if a reversal of fortune.

Two short weeks ago the Eagles were dead in the water. They had just suffered three consecutive crushing losses to what most believed were inferior opponents. Worse, the games were not close. They got blown out by both the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, just days after being embarrassed on their home turf by Tampa Bay. They surrendered 45 points in both losses.

Fingers were starting to be pointed. Chip Kelly's status was suddenly in question.

Then a weird thing happened. The Eagles went to New England and stunned the Patriots. They got their quarterback Sam Bradford back and he provided a steadying hand. The Birds reeled off their second straight win Sunday by holding off LeSean McCoy and the Bills at the Linc.

Now, incredibly (and at least in part due to the fact that the NFC East is fairly atrocious), they hold their destiny in their own hands.

They face another prime time date this Sunday, when the 11-2 Arizona Cardinals visit South Philly.

But here's where it gets really weird.

Yes, a win would certainly help, but the bottom line is that it doesn't really matter what the Eagles do against the Cardinals. If they win their final two games, NFC East dates with the Redskins at home and winding up the season with the Giants in North Jersey, they will win the division, and host a home playoff game.

Merry Christmas, Eagles fans.

Of course, they have to win those two games.

And if they beat the Cardinals? Don't ask, I'm already confused.
