The mystery of Amanda De Guio continues

The family of Amanda De Guio is clinging to help that she is still alive.

Good for them. I hope they're right.

De Guio was last seen when she left her Upper Darby home in June of 2014. She had her purse and an iPhone.

She was in the news again this week after skeletal remains were found in Ridley Creek State Park. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood indicated that the body could be that of De Guio. His department has worked closely with the family and done an extensive investigation into the 25-year-old missing mother. He believes she likely is dead.

Family members didn't care for his comments.

I received a voice-mail from Nicole De Guio, Amanda's sister.

While she was very appreciative of the story once again publicizing her sister's plight, but she made it clear she did not care for the chief's comments.

As it turns out, it appears the body in the park likely is not Amanda. State police yesterday indicated the size of the shoe found on the remains did not match Amanda's shoe size. It will be some time before autopsy results can determine a positive identification and cause of death.

The mystery of Amanda De Guio's whereabouts continues. I hope we did not add to the family's aggravation and concern. I'd like nothing better than to run a story saying they were being reunited with their loved on.
