They went back to class at Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast High School Thursday.
But they went back knowing all too well what happened the day before.
That's when police swept the school after a report that a student went into the school with a weapon. The gun had been flashed during a drug transaction outside the school.
Bonner-Prendie is not immune to the kinds of problems that show up in every other area of our society.
Drug and gun issues do not respect any borders or demographic model.
They are everywhere.
But there is an important lesson that can be taken from what happened at Bonner.
Call it a learning experience, one we hope that a lot more people will mimic.
It's on our editorial page.
