Something will happen tonight in South Philly that has never happened before in Philly sports history.
No, hopefully not another 110-foot goal surrendered by Steve Mason.
The Flyers will play a game in the house he built without Ed Snider as their leader.
It will undoubtedly be an emotional evening as the Flyers look to dig out of a 2-0 hole in their playoff series against the Washington Capitals.
I used my weekly print column today to talk about Snider. For me this one was pretty simple. In '73-'74 I was a freshman in college. All I had ever known in a lifetime of passionate rooting for Philly sports teams is the agony of defeat.
Snider and the Flyers changed all that.
He made us winners.
