Focus on great kids and educators

It is a big week for news here in Delaware County and the rest of Pennsylvania.

Maybe you've heard, there's a little event tomorrow called a Primary Election.

Hell, it's gotten so big that none other than Donald Trump has decided to pay us a visit.

But you won't find an election story as our lead story on Page One today.

The same as you would not find them there yesterday in the Sunday paper.

Oh, we still covered the election. We ran down all the crucial races in the Sunday paper.

But we reserved out lead spots both days for two very special stories that we do each year.

On Sunday we listed the 2016 members of the All-Delco Hi-Q team. Each team that takes part in the oldest scholastic quiz competition in the country selects one member to be named All-Delco, based on our popular teams that we select after every high school sports season.

Then today we came right back with profiles on this year's winners of the Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Both groups will be feted Thursday night at the annual Partners in Education Dinner at the Drexelbrook.

I will be there to explain just how important these stories are to us.

Important enough to knock The Donald off Page One.
