Why barring 911 call info from public is a bad idea

We're using our editorial page today to take what is probably not a terribly popular opinion.

You're shocked, I know.

There is a move in Harrisburg to exempt certain information from 911 calls from being covered by the state's Right to Know Law.

We don't think that's a good idea, in part because it could stymie our ability to do our job.

But we also don't believe in general that keeping information from the public is a good idea.
