Finding some ethics in Washington

No doubt the people who took to social media to greet our new sign and official arrival in Swarthmore to note that we should feel right at home given our liberal bent will be less than thrilled with today's editorial.

Brace yourself, folks. This is what the next four years is going to be like.

We used the edit page to chide Republicans in D.C. for - in their first official act - plotting a middle-of-the-night coup against the independent Board of Ethics.

We also noted that our local Congressman, Rep. Pat Meehan, R-7, had the decency to oppose this measure from the start.

After a massive public outcry, and even a few tweets (naturally!) from president-elect Donald Trump, Republicans tabled the measure when it became clear they did not have to votes to get it done.

Now it's on to the battle over repealing Obamacare.

Yep, it's going to be an interesting four years.
