Good riddance, May!

Good riddance, May.

I wish I could say I'm sorry to see you go.

I'm not.

Take a gander out the window. That big yellow ball in the sky? That's the sun. Yes, it's making a rare appearance. We're actually looking at a sunny day.

Compare that with a thoroughly miserable May, which can be summed up in two words - wet and cold.

Philadelphia actually got 6.33 inches of rain in May, almost double the average precipitation for May.

But don't get too excited.

The extended forecast calls for at least another two weeks of cooler temperatures and wetter conditions.

Looks like maybe summer is actually going to abide by the calendar this year.

Technically, summer does not arrive until June 21. According to the forecast, it might be that long before any kind of extended summer-like conditions arrive.
