One picture is all it takes

My initial plan was not to lead today's paper with the ordeal of the two dogs that were rescued from an Upper Darby park.

Then staff writer Rose Quinn showed me the picture that appears on Page One.

That is basically all it took.

Photos have a way of doing that.

One glance at that photo tells you all you need to know about the ordeal these two dogs endured.

But it's what is happening in the image that actually draws you in.

One of the dogs is resting her head on her pal.

Yeah, it's that kind of image.

Police believe the two dogs were used for fighting before being dumped in the park. They were in bad shape, emaciated, scarred and barely clinging to life when they were found in Penn Pines Park.

Let's hope they catch the people responsible soon.
