A call for review of policies at Delco prison

On our editorial page today, we take up the call of Janene Wallace.

She is the woman who took her own life while being held in solitary confinement in the George W. Hill Prison.

Her family recently settled a civil suit against the private company that operated the Delco jail.

This week they and their attorney appeared before County Council seeking an independent, transparent review of policies at the prison, especially when it comes to dealing with those with mental health issues.

We support their request.
