Lane Johnson gets the silent treatment

Lane Johnson is going on a silent count.

No, the Eagles Pro Bowl right tackle isn't worried about jumping offsides, even though he was flagged for three penalties in Monday night's win over the Raiders.

No, Johnson says he's done talking to the media.

"I'm done talking for the year. Maybe the rest of my career," Johnson told the assembled scribes Wednesday.

Johnson is not saying what he's upset about, although after the game he expressed some frustration that people were focusing on how bad the Eagles played and not the fact that they won, in the process sewing up the home-field advantage through the playoffs.

After the game, Johnson was not happy with the referees who threw three flags in his direction. And then he was ticked about all the talk about how the Birds had looked in the win.

"It just gets to the point where we are winning the game, but nobody is satisfied anymore," Johnson said. "So we won the game. That's all that matters."

Johnson has a point. The Birds are 13-2. But the fact is most of that record came with Carson Wentz doing his magic leading the offense. This is not the same team we saw earlier in the year, not on defense either.

While Nick Foles was admitting he had to play better, Johnson was taking a vow of silence.

This is the guy who cost his team dearly last year with a suspension from the league for using banned substances.

This year, Johnson has been a mainstay of the line, earning a Pro Bowl invitation.

To be honest, no one really cares if Lane Johnson has anything to say. Just say it on the field, Lane.
