There is a mystery in the Wallingford Swarthmore School District.
The respected principal of Wallingford Elementary School resigned suddenly Monday.
The school alerted the community, noting that Joshua Peterkin left his post because of an allegation of 'inappropriate conduct."
The district was quick to point out the incident did not involve any students at the school.
But other than that, they aren't saying much.
Both the district Superintendent Lisa Palmer and solicitor are indicating they won't have much more to say, pointing out they are limited because it's a personnel issue.
That leaves a lot of people wondering just what it was that would cause Peterkin to leave his job.
Joseph Buechler, a vice principal at Strath Haven Middle School, is taking over at Wallingford Elementary on an interim basis, while the school starts an immediate search for Peterkin's successor.
One parent we talked to indicated she was glad the district took quick action, but was hoping for more transparency.
I get the feeling she's not the only one.
