RIP, Vince Leonard

Time marches on.

Raise your hand is this name is familiar: Vince Leonard.

Yes, like many of the names and faces that come into homes every night, Vince Leonard became part of the family. The longtime Channel 3 news anchor passed away at his home in Phoenix at the age of 92.

That, of course, was even more so in the days before the Internet, Twitter and Facebook.

Back then, local TV news anchors were almost like big brothers or sisters. They entered our homes every night, updating us on the news of the day.

I was an Eyewitness News kid. My mom liked Vince Leonard. So Channel 3 was what we watched.

Leonard was the anchor on Channel 3 for most of the '60's and '70's.

He left KYW in 1980 and moved to Phoenix, where he worked until he retired.

Gee, I wonder what ever happened to Mort Crim?
