Forget The Process.
Sixers superstar Joel Embiid is investing in a higher authority.
And he's doing it right here in Delco.
You can imagine the reaction when the 7-foot Embiid showed up at the 5:30 Mass at St. Kevin's Roman Catholic Church on Sproul Road in Springfield Saturday.
Kind of hard to miss a 7-footer going up for Communion.
After Mass, Embiid, who scored 14 points and hauled down 14 rebounds as the Sixers held on to beat the Heat in Miami to take a commanding 3-1 lead in their NBA playoff series, was only too happy to take pictures with stunned parishioners.
Embiid also took time to connect with a very special fan.
You can read about his connection with Evan Murphy here.
And you can check out more photos of Embiid at St. Kevin's on the parish's Facebook page.
In the meantime, the Sixers will look to close out the Heat tonight at what should be an electric Wells Fargo Center. It will mark Embiid's first home playoff game. He missed the start of the series as he recovered from a broken orbital bone in his eye.
