22 and 1 equals 0-2.
Let me explain.
The Sixers had a 22-point lead halfway through the second quarter last night.
They blew that, scratched back to regain the lead in the second half, but still lost their second straight game to the Celtics in Boston, 108-103.
They come home staring at an 0-2 disadvantage. Thankfully, they play the next two games at the Wells Fargo Center. You might want to check out these weird start times. They play at 5 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
And they had better get a little more out of their Rookie of the Year candidate Ben Simmons.
He scored all of 1 point in a little more than 30 minutes of playing time. At one point, he was benched in favor of T.J. McConnell. Oh, and Markelle Fultz did not play again, all while Jayson Tatum was lighting it up again for the Celtics.
All of which leads our man in Boston, Jack McCaffery, to point out these young Sixers are facing a test in their confidence.
Check out Jack's column here.
And tune in to hear Jack talking Sixers with the Morning Show on 610-WIP this morning at 9.
